-The Twilight Saga: New Moon had a huge opening day. The second movie in the franchise pulled in $72.7 million breaking the previous single-day boxoffice record of $67.2 million, set by The Dark Knight in July 2008. The first day total included $26.3 million in boxoffice from a total 3,514 performances at 12:01 a.m. Friday, which set a record for midnight showings. The original Twilight collected $36 million in its first day of release and $69.6 million in its first weekend.
Hottie ZAC Efron insists he’s happy that Robert Pattinson came on the showbiz scene — because now he can have a life! The High School Musical actor says he’s delighted to give way to the Twilight hunk because Pattinson deflects the attention away from him. “It’s great because now I don’t get so much female attention,” Efron said. Continuing along with their romp around the world, the stars of the “Twilight Saga: New Moon” were busy boosting interest in their new film in Munich, Germany on Saturday (November 14). With Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner on hand, the gang attended the annual HBV Jugendtreff concert event at Olympiahalle Muenchen.
