With Avril Lavigne’s new album is still nowhere to be seen, the pop rocker decided to strip down for Maxim Magazine (pictured above) for a raunchy pictorial and a brand new interview. The shoot marks the third time that Avril has bared all for the mens mag, but enough about that sleazy crap — let’s get to the album.
“I have officially just wrapped the album,” she tells Maxim. “I’ve been working on it for about two and a half years. I’ve lived a lot, gone through a lot, and put a lot into my songwriting. These songs are very meaningful to me.”
“This album is the first that is not boy-bashing. [laughs] Is it inspired by my personal relationships? Yes. Inspired by life experiences? Yes. Inspired by experiences in situations with my family and friends? Yes.”
OK, so we basically know nothing more than we did before. Good work, detective. Other than dishing on her own music, Avril was also asked what she thought about the current state of the pop scene, and more specifically, three of it’s image-heavy rulers — Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Ke$ha.
“It’s an interesting period in music right now, very ’80s and beat-driven. A lot of girls are really into their image and costumes and going over the top. I really like Ke$ha. Her songs are fun to party to, and her lyrics are hilarious.”
Avril’s a Ke$ha stan too? I never realized she had such good taste! She’s sure come a long way from the days when she would verbally attack any other pop star that was mentioned in her presence.
Anyway, look out for Avril’s new album… God knows when. In an on-set Maxim video that just surfaced a few days ago, Avril says that album’s first single is due “soon”, but for all we know she could’ve shot that cover 6 months ago and it’s only come out now.
