Now that High School Musical 3 is a big-screen hit, Selena Gomez wants to make some movie magic of her own.
The star of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place – about a Manhattan family whose children have magical powers – says there are plans to turn the show into a movie.
“We actually want to shoot here in New York,” Gomez, 16, told MTV News. The plotline? “I think it would have to be that our [family's] secret is about to be exposed.”

Selena Gomez has formed her very own production company, July Moon Prods., reports Variety.
The 16-year-old Disney starlet will be able to option articles, hire screenwriters and tie additional talent to packages that can then be shopped to studios.
Selena is also on her way for creating a Disney Channel original movie! She told MTV News, “Yes! We actually want to shoot it here in New York. I think it would have to be that our secret is about to be exposed.
Although Miley Cyrus has been inseperable from maybe-boyfriend Justin Gaston lately, E! News has learned that he didn’t join the teen queen on her promotional tour overseas.
“Justin is not with us in Europe,” Miley’s rep tells E! “He’s not even in Europe.”
But the 20-year-old model did give her a lift to LAX…

Emily Osment attended the “Soccer Mom” movie premiere in Los Angeles on September 20th. She is looking adorable with that soccer ball purse.
She spoke to Popstar who asked her what she looks for in a boyfriend. She mentioned that she didn’t want to be cliche but listed smart, hot and a few other traits. Does Emily have a boyfriend? I’ve never heard of her being linked to any guy in particular before.

Back on the promotional trail after a short Hawaiian getaway, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens attended a press conference for “High School Musical 3” in Mexico City on Thursday (October 30).
